The Westbourne Centre opened it’s doors 5 years ago this month and is celebrating in style. To mark the occasion an open week will be held at the centre from the 24th-28th February. Each day will host a theme, and visitors will be able to meet consultants and attend drop-in sessions. Guided tours and special offers will also be available as well as a lucky dip for patients.  They will will also be supporting Edward’s Trust during the week, by holding a cake sale with all proceeds going to the charity

St Pauls Gallery are holding a launch day event to celebrate the works of two great artists, the late Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell, who founded the infamous photo-design studio, Hipgnosis. Known for their famous album cover designs for Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel and many more, these iconic images will be alongside a collection of NEW UNSEEN prints created by Storm and Aubrey. The new collection includes Album Covers for Scorpions, Strawbs, Wishbone Ash and a further six bands, creating nine unseen works in total. Produced in the 1970’s these prints will finally be on display for all to view.

The event also includes a talk from Aubrey from 2.00pm when he will relate some amusing stories as to how some of the album covers were achieved and how his amazing career began, from the people he has worked with to how he and Storm envisaged and created some of the most iconic images we see today.
