This exclusive exhibition will display iconic paintings from the Tate alongside related works from Birmingham’s own collection. The centrepiece will be John William Waterhouse’s ‘The Lady of Shalott’ (1888), one of Tate’s most famous and popular works, which rarely travels outside London.

The husband and wife duo, Roop Kumar Rathod and Sunali Rathod, will travel with eight musicians, taking the UK audience on a trip down memory lane in an evening of unforgettable timeless melodies from yesteryear in addition to Roop’s own hits from Bollywood. Saregama, India’s largest and highly reputable music label, are bringing their tour over to Birmingham. Bollywood has come a long way since its first ever film in 1913, and ‘Celebrating the Legends’ has handpicked a selection of songs from the greatest singers. In recent years the international recognition received after Mira Nair’s Salaam Bombay, as well as the award-winning Slumdog Millionaire which brought popularity of Indian Cinema to the West. However it is the music of the films that is best remembered and it was with Saregama that most Indian legends began their careers, lending their voices to the mega stars on screen. Join the duo (the voices behind many contemporary hits from Bollywood blockbusters to Ghazals and Sufi songs) who will showcase the incredible vocal talents of legends Mohammad Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Talat Mahmood and Noor Jehan in what promises to be a musical masterpiece.

City-based auction house Biddle & Webb is putting on its first dedicated one-man art exhibition promoting the diverse and critically acclaimed work of Birmingham born artist David Hunter. The exhibition is a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts, buyers and collectors to view a selection of the work he produced whilst working in Germany for over twenty years and also the pieces he created in his South Yardley studio. Sculptures, paintings and mono-type prints will be included in the exhibition where David has used a range of mediums to create his versatile three and two dimensional work.

The city of Worcester has been chosen as one of the 66 overnight stops on the Olympic Torch Relay as it tours around the UK on its way to the Olympic stadium in London. The torch will journey through the city’s streets until it reaches New Road and Worcestershire County Cricket Club for an amazing evening celebration to which the people of Worcester and Worcestershire are invited. Worcester City Council is hosting the Evening Celebration in association with Visit Worcester and LOCOG. The tickets for the evening celebration will be free of charge, but you will need to apply for them. There is a 4 week window to apply for tickets.
