A Moseley family and their friends are putting on a fundraising event in memory of Vanessa Rose, a 46 year old wife and mother of two teenage girls who passed away last year from bone marrow cancer. The Remembering Vanessa Rose Show hopes to raise funds for local and national charities that were close to her heart, including Myeloma UK, Cure Leukaemia and St Mary’s Hospice. To kick-start the fundraising, the charity has arranged a comedy event featuring Edinburgh Fringe Festival hit, Double Booked. Billed as ‘Bridget Jones meets Outnumbered’ the one woman show, starring Ginny Davis, is suitable for both adults and teenagers. Karen Georgevic, a friend of Vanessa, said: “Vanessa was a big personality, who brought joy wherever she went. She did so much to help others and it is only apt that we keep her memory alive and continue to raise funds and support the causes that were dear to her. “This will be a great afternoon of fun and laughter, which would be just up Vanessa’s street, and we hope as many people come along as possible.”

Tickets cost £25 for adults and £20 for students, which includes afternoon tea.

Book online at http://www.ruddockpac.co.uk/ or tel:  0121 472 9585. The event is being staged at the Performing Arts Centre, King Edwards School, Edgbaston and doors open at 2pm.
