Outdoor catwalk showcases BCU 1000 Threads student designers
Brindleyplace hosted Birmingham City University’s acclaimed 1000 Threads catwalk, showcasing the creativity of its student fashion designers. Hosted by Strictly Come Dancing’s Brummie star Lauren Oakley, the outdoor event featured 11 collections exploring themes of international connectivity, heritage and archiving. Three students received awards from industry experts. Imarnie Bennett, received the Menswear award, while the Womenswear award went to Frankie Ward. Zoe Bennett received the Gold Award for her menswear collection influenced by the work of Grayson Perry. 1000 Threads was held in partnership with Brindleyplace, with sponsorship from Bank restaurant and Ikon Gallery.
