Apples are bang in season, so why not celebrate with this delightful little number…

Think of a Martini and the image of 007 comes to mind. The Vesper Martini was the cocktail of choice for Hollywood’s greatest spy. But in our book James Bond missed a trick, as we’d always plump for an Apple Martini – or Appletini for short. Here’s how to make a great one – but as always, please enjoy responsibly.

INGREDIENTS

• 50ml vodka
• 25ml apple liqueur
• 25ml fresh apple juice
• 25ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 20ml sugar syrup

METHOD

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all the ingredients and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled glass coupette, garnish with a thin slice of apple – and enjoy!
