Lunch boosts Big Art project

John Lewis boss tells guests how Brum is driving the UK economy

Nearly 100 corporate guests attended a fund-raising lunch in aid of Birmingham Big Art Project. They were welcomed by the project’s chairman Glyn Pitchford before being addressed by Andy Street, managing director of John Lewis and chairman of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP. He discussed his career, John Lewis’s arrival in Birmingham and the role Birmingham has to play in driving the UK economy. The lunch at Hotel du Vin raised £13,000 for the Big Art Project, including donations of £5,000 each from John Lewis and Pertemps.
