Asian Business Chamber holds special event for 200 guests at St John’s Hotel
More than 200 guests attended a celebration of the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi at an event organised by Asian Business Chamber of Commerce at St John’s Hotel, Solihull. Speakers included vice-president Lakhbir Singh, Stephen Edmonds from the children and young people directorate at Birmingham City Council, Manjeet Ghataora from West Midlands Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association and Raaj Shamji from Mahirs Experience. ABCC president Qasim Majid highlighted that outside of India, Birmingham has the largest Vaisakhi gathering in the world with more than 100,000 attending the celebration in Handsworth Park in April.
