Strawberry daiquiri

Did you know?…

The original Daiquiri, named after the Cuban town, was created in 1896 by an American mining engineer called Jennings Cox and consisted of rum, lime and sugar. The recipe was apparently adapted after running out of gin and having to ‘make do’ with rum. It’s one of the simplest cocktails to make using white rum – and as the strawberry season kicks off in earnest, this lovely frozen version certainly hits the spot.

  • 2 measures of rum
  • 1 measure of strawberry liqueur
  • 1 measure of lime juice
  • 6 strawberries
  • Ice cubes

Prepare a Martini glass by rubbing the rim with a lime wedge and then with granulated sugar. Add all ingredients in a blender. Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of sugar if you like your drinks extra sweet. Blend until smooth. Pour in the prepared glass.
